This page explains what Slop Bin stores, what it sends over the network, and how to contact us. It is written in plain language; this is not legal advice. If anything is unclear, email us. The address is at the bottom.
What Slop Bin does
Slop Bin is a browser extension for LinkedIn with two core features: a humorous “bin mode” that visually dismisses feed posts you choose, and optional premium Focus Mode that blocks distracting non-jobs areas while keeping Jobs routes available. It is not affiliated with LinkedIn.
Data stored on your device
The extension stores information locally in your browser using
Chrome’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local), including:
- Whether Bin mode is turned on
- Whether Focus Mode is turned on
- How many free removals you have used
- Whether a license is activated and an optional opaque token returned when you verify a purchase
We do not require an account to use the extension.
License verification
If you enter a license key, the extension may send that key to Gumroad (our license provider) over HTTPS to confirm your purchase. We do not process payments inside the extension; checkout happens on Gumroad’s site, governed by Gumroad’s own privacy practices.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not collect the full text of your feed posts on our servers for analytics.
- We do not run a backend that builds a profile of what you read, beyond what Gumroad needs to validate a license key when you activate.
